WELCOME TO THE LAND OF TAIKO!

ODAIKO – BIG DRUM
Odaiko is the world’s largest drum and is played in a horizontal position with the drummer standing on either side of the drum.

SHIME- SMALL DRUM
These are the highest-toned flat drums, used to maintain the base rhythm on songs. Kids would love to play with them!

Now you can not only play drums but can also purchase various types of drums that you like at a reasonable price. Traditional drum shops at the event will provide you with a variety of options to choose from and assist you with instructions on how to play those drums. Now it will be easier for you to make the decision to purchase. Also, you may get the drums as per your taste in music. For example, you can get a drum that sounds loud, low-pitch, and many more that suits your preferences.
You would be glad to know that Giants will be coming with their big heads to the festival. The world-leading street drum festival will be equipped with giant visitors like the Grandma, Little girl, laughing queen, or an entirely new character. We are expecting the streets to be full of spectators and the participants coming with their families. The giants will be parading down the street with the participants. Xolo - The Dragon which is one of the unique in the list of masterpieces is also coming to the festival with a fire in his mouth to entertain you to the fullest.
We will also be having the DJ to make the most out of the music festival this time. You can request your favorite tracks to be played and the drummers will align their drum sounds to the music being played by the DJ. It will be really fun to experience those rhythms.
There is more exciting news for you. Carnival rides are the most thrilling things that one could do at a festival. Enjoy the high rides along with the soothing music and pastel colors all spread in the sky. Rides are usually favorite among children and adults, but we have rides for all age groups. What's New & Exciting!

Some exciting news from Winnipeg has recently been announced that Hinode Taiko - a Japanese Taiko Drum Group is celebrating its four decades of commitment and dedication to playing Taiko Drums. Artistic Director, Yuko Nozoe found interest in this style of drumming in her early years and cannot forget the sound of the drums even today.
It has been a milestone for the Japanese Drum Group of how a small community can survive for 40 years among other music arts. She further explained that how it has been believed in the Japanese tradition that the sound of Taiko drums resonates like a mother’s heartbeats for an unborn child.
Here’s how Nozoe described her fondness for Taiko drums: “You can’t ignore the sound of the drum. It’s just like an unapologetic expression of my Japanese-Canadian-ness". She organized two performances in a concert called ‘Hikari - light leading the way’ where she played several artistic compositions for celebrating 40 years of cultural togetherness at the Centre Culturel Franco-Manitobain (CCFM) at the weekend.
She is very thankful to all the drum players and the people who have supported the group and contributed to its achievement today. Nozoe especially moved five years ago from Toronto to Winnipeg to become a part of this group. She explained how the sound of the drums is loud and full of high-energy beats but how they have a calming effect to it.
She added how these performances by players make her feel connected to her Japanese heritage and culture. She showed her gratitude for how people made the Hinode Taiko Canada’s longest running taiko group east of the Rockies. She is hoping to connect with the hearts of more people through the sound of the Taiko Drums.
